One trainer wants me to tighten my thighs to signal my horse to stop, and the other actually tells me to relax my thighs to deepen my seat aid. Which is correct? (Rebecca)

I think that the concept of using your thighs to stop is fairly evenly split in the dressage world. A number of trainers teach it, and a good number do not agree. The way I look at it is that it definitely works to stop or half halt by tightening your thighs, but it has the drawback of causing many horses to...
